DANTE - Sistema de Prevención, Detección y Seguimiento de Incendios Forestales

The objective of this project is to develop algorithms for the detection of fire in forest environments with image processing techniques. For an early detection, the focus has been on smoke detection. Background subtraction techniques have been adapted to this particular environment, taking into account the smoke special features (color, size, continuity, etc). This project has been financed by AD-Telecom within the context of the Avanza program of the Spanish Industry ministry.
