Biography
Amanda Duarte is a PhD candidate at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) under the supervision of Prof. Jordi Torres and Prof. Xavier Giró.
In 2015, she graduated in Systems Analysis at Instituto Federal Sul-rio-grandense Câmpus Pelotas (IFSul) in Brazil spending one year at Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC) in the United States as part of an exchange program. She obtained her Master's degree in Computer Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande (Furg) under the supervision of Prof. Silvia Botelho and Prof. Paulo Drews working with the Automation and Intelligent Robotics (NAUTEC) group.
During the summer of 2017, she was a visiting student at .
Over the course of her PhD, she interned at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, Johns Hopkins University and Carnegie Mellon University in 2017, 2018 and 2019, respectively.
Her current research interests lie in the area of Computer Vision and Machine Learning applied to accessibility.
