Biography

Albert Oliveras received, the Technical Engineer degree from the EUETT "La Salle Bonanova in 1983 and the M.S. in Computer Science in 1989 from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya-UPCin Barcelona. He received the Ph.D. from the UPC in 1997.

From 1982 to 1985 he worked at Bioingenieria S.A., Barcelona, Spain in the application of digital signal processing to the analysis of human biological signals. The projects devepoled at  Bioingenieria S.A. were for companies as Icuatro S.A., Guardian Iberica S.A. or international organizations as European Space Agency-ESA, ESTEC.

From October 1989 to September 1992, he was assistant professor of Computer Architecture and Technology in the UPC Computer Science Faculty in Barcelona. In October 1992, he joined at the Signal Theory and Communications Department of the UPC where he teaches Digital Signal Processing and Digital Signal Processors applications.

His current research interests includes nonlinear image and signal processing and mathematical morphology,  and its applications to biological signal processing.
